The Old Boys' Association moves into its second century

April 2010

We have just had the AGM and the Annual Reunion Dinner.

The AGM was attended by 18 Old Boys.

We invested David Stancombe with the title of President Emeritus, in recognition of his efforts on behalf of the Old Boys and raising the Association from its' slumbers.

We said goodbye to Richard Whitmore, after two exhausting years and welcomed a new President, Tony Buckland, who will preside over us for the next two years. Good luck and I hope you give him all your support.

We also said farewell to David Simmonds, after about 50 years on the Committee !! Richard presented him with a framed testimonial and a quill pen to help him enjoy his writing

We bade farewell to Messrs Garvie and Niven at the end of their term of office. Michael Cranfield was co-opted back onto the Committee at the end of his term. Stuart Halsey and David Stancombe also finished their co-option but David is still looking after Membership for the time being.

We welcome Howard Gregory and Steve Hilleard who have joined the Committee.

The Dinner was finally attended by 66 Old Boys after a number of additions and subtractions on the night. It was enjoyed by all and Bernie Cotton our guest speaker gave us the state of the art presentation on the Olympics, with a little help from the Head !!. Some of the more academic Old Boys were not so impressed, but it was very good, nevertheless.
